So I'm 26...
And in my head, that means that I am getting old…so I need to do things to retain my youth right? Like get a passport and go to Berlin…and then go to Paris…and enjoy life…right? Okay cool…because that’s just what I did…trip is booked…and passport is next up. Oh and did I mention that I may be driving cross country and back in a week? Because...

Maickel Melamed: A True Inspiration
Runners of a competitive nature often live each race pursuing after the quest of a goal; a new PR, a new PB, placing, etc. Some, however, just dream of competing. One of those such individuals is Maickel Melamed of Venezuela. At age 36, Melamed has been dealing with a rare birth defect called hypotonia. The defect causes the development of muscle tone to be rather minimal which makes partaking in...

a run with an overall pace of 6:53. While it’s not a pace I can hold for all that long, one day it will be. And then I’ll say the same about 6:45 and so on…

The fastest man I know putting in some serious work high up there in Mexico. I cannot wait till he is back home and starts running with the crew again. Knox, you’re quite the motivator.

Keeping the inspiration alive, our Zurich family heads into the night dressed head to toe in Gyakusou. I must say that in following our crews around the world I am quite honored to be included in this running revolution. I look forward to the day that we #BRIDGETHEGAP in Berlin.

Another 6.5 mile run but on new turf. The past few weeks have been nice as I’ve found myself in unfamiliar places that I should’ve frequented some time ago. Last week it was the Guggenheim and today it was Prospect Park. A relatively flat traverse, the park was easy on the knees. Moving along at a less intense pace allowed me to actually take in the sights…I found myself...

Run Dem Crew / Tom Hull / Rosie Lee
Away Away Away is a hand bound publication produced by creative genius Rosie Lee that documents the existence of London’s own Run Dem Crew and their road up until the London Marathon. Led by the fearless Charlie Dark, RDC has grown quickly since it’s creation in 2007. The images, shot by Tom Hull, are intertwined in such a way with the design that this book is a must have for...

Why Do I Run?
The question reverberated in my head today after a conversation inside the bookstore today. I was spending some time browsing the new releases and was pulled into a discussion about the weather with the shopkeep. Throughout the exchange it came out that I was a runner and that tomorrow morning I was running yet another race. Her response to this fact was so thought provoking on my end....

There’s a certain level of excitement that comes from marching into the NYRR headquarters and picking up a bib for race day. To see the masses, donned in everyday clothing, filtering out with packets in tote always bring a smirk to my face; come race day they’ll be decked out, head to toe, in spandex with a gleam of determination in their eyes. This race is my first in the city of...

Evan Hecox
If there could only be one artist whose work I collected for the rest of my life it may very well be Evan Hecox. Over the course of the past fourteen years, I’ve seen Hecox’s work pass in front of me nearly every day through the vehicle of the skateboard; growing up I never would’ve imagined the tool being such a effective advertising tool. In my pursuit of becoming a full...

Quite possibly the hottest artist in the skate game right now, Haroshi, has recently partnered with both HUF and Real in another successful collaboration…only 400 of these decks have been pressed so get your grimy hands on one while you can.

A Running Life With Friends: Olympic Trials →
arunninglifewithfriends: I just finished watching the Olympic Trials for the marathon held down in Houston. Those who will be representing the team, Meb, Hall, Abdirahman, Flanagan, Davila, Goucher, they had amazing races to get them to London for a shot at gold medal immortality. But their accomplishments, as…

Food Shopping
Recently I acquired a copy of the Runner’s World: Complete Guide to Nutrition. While browsing through the pages a line near the introduction hit me hard(it was actually more like a bitch slap). “Exercise alone will not get you to where you want to be.” Since 2012 is a big year of change for me, I’ve decided to address my dietary habits to see if they closely align with my...

Winter Running
I’ve never been a fan of cold weather running; I always feel as though my throat becomes extremely tender and due to the low temperatures it’s harder to swallow each chilling breath. However last week I managed a quick 6.2 miles in the 22 degree night and it was perhaps the best run I’ve had to date. With that being said, bring it on winter.

We Run Rome
3,000 Italians opted for concrete instead of champagne to ring in the New Year…not your traditional way to kick off 2012 but certainly a more positive one. Looks like the #makeitcount campaign by Nike is already gaining a ton of momentum and we’re only 4 days in. If you don’t know, get informed and stay in the loop as big things are on the horizon.
